I also practice from an evidence-based model of couples counseling called Emotion-focused Couples Therapy, which lasts from 10-20 sessions. If there is significant trauma or infidelity, counseling lasts around 35 sessions. Working form this model helps reduce the amount of time and money you spend in therapy and provides the best opportunity for positive outcomes.
